Product Overview
MTA Series top-mounted cabinet air conditioner installs on the roof of the electrical enclosure and controls internal temperature through refrigeration and air circulation, freeing the cabinet side panels for doors and access. Covering 800-1500 W cooling capacity on 220V 50Hz input with -40 to +55 °C operation, it is the compact choice for electrical boxes where side-mounted space is unavailable — control rooms, wall-mounted enclosures and compact distribution cabinets.

Key Features
- Top-mount architecture: installs on the cabinet roof, keeps side panels free for doors and wiring
- Condensation control: large airflow, small enthalpy difference design prevents moisture on electronics
- Wide temperature range: -40 °C to +55 °C operation
- Eco refrigerant: R134a; RS485 remote monitoring and multi-function alarm output
- Quiet operation: 25-27 dB(A) for indoor control room environments
- Standard cutout: 365×600×401 mm outline fits common roof openings

Top-Mount vs. Side-Mount Enclosure Cooling
Side-mounted cabinet air conditioners occupy a side panel and are the default for most outdoor telecom and industrial cabinets. The top-mounted layout trades capacity range (800-1500 W) for a smaller footprint and free side panels — useful for wall-mounted control boxes, indoor switchgear and enclosures where door access or cable entry occupies the sides. Because cold air naturally sinks, top mounting also distributes cool air downward through the cabinet without extended ducting.
How to Select the Right Model
Size on internal heat load: VFDs, PLCs, contactors and power supplies inside the enclosure, rated at 1.2-1.5 times the calculated load. MTA0800 covers control boxes with under 600 W of heat; MTA1000 and MTA1500 serve compact distribution cabinets and small control rooms with 800 W-1.2 kW of load. Confirm the cabinet roof opening matches the 365×600×401 mm outline, or order an OEM size to fit.
Applications
- Wall-mounted electrical control boxes and compact distribution cabinets
- Indoor switchgear and control room enclosures
- Machine tool and automation panels where side space is occupied
- Monitoring and metering cabinets

For long-term reliability, clean the condenser and intake surfaces on a quarterly maintenance cycle, and verify the mounting gasket annually in high-humidity environments.

Installation Notes
The MTA Series installs on the cabinet roof through a standard roof opening; seal the mounting frame with the supplied gasket to keep the protection rating intact, and route the power and RS485 wiring through the side cable entry. Check roof load capacity for thin-wall enclosures, and keep at least 200 mm clearance above the unit for condenser airflow.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: When is a top-mounted unit better than a side-mounted cabinet air conditioner?
A: When the cabinet side panels are occupied by doors, cable entry or equipment, or when you need a compact footprint for a wall-mounted or indoor enclosure. The MTA Series covers 800-1500 W; above that range, side-mounted units are the standard choice.
Q: Does the top-mounted design cause condensation problems inside the cabinet?
A: No. The MTA Series uses a large-airflow, small-enthalpy-difference design that keeps cabinet surfaces above the dew point, which is the standard method to prevent condensation on electronics.
