Product Overview
The Accelink OSFP112 800G DR8 LPO implements 800 Gbit/s as eight 112G-class lanes using linear direct-drive (LPO) optics: the DSP is removed and retiming is handled by the host switch SerDes with strong FEC, per the LPO MSA 100G-DR-LPO v1.01 specification (published 2025-03-19) built on OIF CEI-112G-LINEAR-PAM4. Accelink’s OIF demo document specifies 500 m reach at 1310 nm, 0-70°C operation, and power consumption of ≤7.5 W for LPO (≤9.5 W for the RTLR/LRO variant).
Compared with conventional 800G DSP modules at roughly 14-18 W, the ≤7.5 W LPO budget cuts module power by roughly half, which matters at AI-cluster scale where thermal and power envelopes limit switch density; industry analyses place LPO modules at 6-9 W versus 14-18 W for DSP designs in the 800G class.
Typical applications include power-constrained 800G leaf-spine tiers in AI clusters, ≤500 m in-hall fabrics where the host switch supports linear lanes, and operators seeking to reduce per-link thermal load while the 200G/lane and LPO ecosystem matures.
