The NVIDIA MMS4A00 implements 1600 Gbit/s as a twin-port 2xDR4 OSFP module: eight electrical lanes at 200 Gb/s PAM4 feed two 4-lane DR4 optical interfaces on dual MPO-12 APC connectors, transmitting at 1310 nm over singlemode fiber to a documented 500 m. NVIDIA lists support for the XDR 800 Gb/s InfiniBand protocol, positioning the module for Quantum-X800-class AI fabrics.
As a 200G-per-lane (224G-class SerDes generation) module, it halves the fiber count per terabit versus 100G-lane 800G optics and tracks the industry’s stated roadmap toward 1.6T switch ports for AI training clusters.
