Product Overview
The SFP-25G-SR (with the SFP-25G-SR-E variant) belongs to Huawei’s 25G series and implements 25.78125 Gbit/s 25GBASE-SR transmission over 850 nm multimode fiber with an LC/DLC duplex connector in the SFP28 footprint. Huawei documents 70 m on OM3 and 100 m on OM4 at a BER of 5×10^-5, and 30 m/40 m at the stricter BER of 10^-12.
The module is specified for a 0°C to +70°C operating case temperature and plugs into 25GE SFP28 ports on Huawei switches and server adapters. As the access-side counterpart of 100G SR4 (4×25G), it lets operators reuse their OM3/OM4 multimode plant while upgrading server connectivity from 10G to 25G per lane.
Typical applications include 25G server connectivity in cloud and enterprise data centers, ToR downlinks and uplinks over existing OM3/OM4 fiber, and the breakout legs of 100GBASE-SR4 links.
